Wednesday morning, was a beautiful sunny day. Day that couldn’t be wasted feeling angry and disappointed, therefore I decided to try out something new. Kundalini Yoga at Semperviva Yoga Studio was a great choice.
Kundalini yoga is a physical and meditative discipline, comprising a set of techniques that use the mind, senses and body to create a communication between “mind” and “body”.

It all sounds very vague, and I am not going to try and explain philosophy behind this type of yoga.
You are welcome to read it yourself. The purpose of this post is to share my experience attending the class. The way I see it, Kundalini yoga is a meditation through the movement and sound. The postures were not overly intense, but I certainly got a great workout.
A little bit over an hour exercise routine is designed from dynamic and static stretching, deep breathing, and voice vibrations. At some moments I felt slightly awkward when moving (e.g. free style dancing for 2 min.), slightly uncomfortable making sounds, but at the end I left feeling lightness of my body, and elevation of my soul for the rest of my day. As all forms of yoga, Kundalini yoga has a great health benefits:
A Kundalini yoga class stimulates the nervous system, glandular system and the immune system as it centres the mind and opens the spirit.
It is not a high intensity cardio workout, and it is not a place to build the muscles. However, if you allow it, it will calm you down, will help you focus, and will pick up yourself confidence. I will certainly do it again.
Don’t hesitate to share your own experience, and suggest if we should try something new.
